About

Orbifex, from the Latin for “world-maker”.

We build stylized, game-ready environment kits for Unreal Engine: themed props and modular architecture that fit together into complete places, from a Slavic fairy-tale village to a gothic Carpathian graveyard.

What we are trying to get right

A kit is not a folder of models. It is a set of pieces that agree with each other — the same scale, the same pivot convention, the same material system, the same three color looks — so that you can drop thirty of them into a level and get a place instead of a pile.

That agreement is the whole job, and it is why we build our own tools rather than export by hand:

  • Scale and orientation are measured, not eyeballed. Every mesh is checked against its real-world size, its pivot sits on the ground, and its front faces +X in Unreal.
  • LODs are set, not guessed. Four levels per mesh, with screen sizes set by hand, because Unreal’s automatic values switch imported LODs to their lowest level far too early.
  • Collision is per asset. A convex hull on props; self-collision on the modular pieces, so doorways and window openings stay open.
  • Color variations cost nothing at runtime. Natural, Weathered and Dark are set per placed actor through Custom Primitive Data — one material instance, not three.
  • Demo maps are built only from the kit. Nothing in them is borrowed from outside, so what you see is what you downloaded.

How we use AI, in plain words

Our props are created with AI models. We do not hide it and we do not dress it up.

The source images and the 3D shapes of the props are generated with FLUX.2 [klein] 4B (Apache 2.0) and TRELLIS.2 (MIT), both licensed for commercial use. Our own tools then do the production work: real-world scale, ground pivot, LODs, texture baking, collision and color variations. Every object is reviewed for shape, proportions, scale and orientation, and every LOD is opened in Unreal and compared against its source before a kit ships.

The modular building pieces are different: they are modeled procedurally in Blender, to exact dimensions. No model generates a wall that has to meet another wall on a 3-metre grid.

Every kit we publish is labeled “Created with AI” and names the models used and their licenses.

Buying here, or on Fab

Our kits are also published on Fab. Buying from this store gets you the same files; the difference is the license you buy under — ours on this site, Epic’s on Fab — and that here we answer the e-mail ourselves.
